GURGAON: Four executive engineers and two sub-divisional engineers (SDE) of GMDA have been deployed in the MCG’s engineering department as the corporation is facing a staff crunch.
The order was passed collectively by the GMDA CEO and the MCG commissioner on Thursday. The sanctioned strength for executive engineers in MCG is 10, but there are only four at present.
Officials said the shortage was affecting services in the city, so they had to give additional responsibilities to the GMDA engineers and that the state government’s permission was also sought for the reshuffle.
“There are four executive engineers in MCG and 12 in GMDA, so we deployed four from GMDA at MCG to lessen the burden of the civic body. This will also ensure better coordination between the officials of both the agencies. I am trying to make the optimum use of resources and we have also sought requisite permission from the state government to make the changes,” PC Meena, MCG commissioner, told TOI.
Divisions 3 and 4 as well as extended areas of zone 4, which were earlier looked after by MCG engineers Narender Suhag and Vishal Garg, besides other duties, will now come under the GMDA engineer Shekhar Nandal.
Similarly, GMDA engineer Parik Garg will take up the work of division 8 and horticulture work of zones 3 and 4 and Sumit Dalal will look after the rainwater harvesting of all zones and horticulture works of zones 1 and 2 besides his GMDA responsibilities.
Vikas Malik, assisted by SDE Hemant Saini, will be responsible for C&D waste management of all zones while SDE Kuldeep Singh will take up works of wards 10, 11 and 12.
