A tragic incident occurred in Gurugram as a 37-year-old man lost his life in a collision involving a speeding Toyota Fortuner SUV and his scooter. The driver of the SUV has been charged under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The victim, identified as Mukesh Saini, resided in Balaji Nagar, Sector 99A. The incident took place on Thursday morning when Saini was exiting the basement of a building on his scooter in Sector 10, according to the Gurugram police. The SUV, identified as a Toyota Fortuner, was allegedly speeding and collided with Saini’s scooter, resulting in the tragic accident.

Eyewitnesses at the scene informed the police that the impact of the collision was so severe that the scooter was dragged for a considerable distance of approximately 50 meters. Anil Yadav, one of the eyewitnesses who was waiting for an autorickshaw nearby, stated that the SUV was speeding and fled from the spot after the accident. However, local residents managed to note down the vehicle’s registration number. The SUV driver initially fled but stopped about a kilometer away after noticing people gathering at the accident site. With the assistance of other bystanders, the driver returned to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby private hospital.

Unfortunately, upon arrival at the hospital, doctors declared Mukesh Saini dead. Anil Yadav mentioned that due to pressing matters, he was unable to file a written complaint immediately after the incident but visited the police station the following morning to lodge a complaint.

The police have registered a case against the SUV driver at Sector 10 police station under Section 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The authorities have taken statements from eyewitnesses and individuals present at the accident site, and the investigation is ongoing.

Following the post-mortem examination, the police released Saini’s body to his grieving family. The police are actively pursuing the case against the SUV driver and are committed to ensuring a thorough investigation into the incident.

The loss of Mukesh Saini’s life in this tragic accident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible and cautious driving. It is crucial for drivers to adhere to traffic rules and exercise vigilance on the roads to prevent such devastating incidents from occurring.
