The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from motivated runners of all ages and skill levels, energizing the city with a sense of determination. Approximately 40,000 individuals are partaking in the Gurugram Marathon 2024, striving to conquer distances ranging from 5km to a full 42.2km.

The marathon commenced in four phases, with the full 42.2 km marathon starting at 4:30 am, followed by the 21.1 km half marathon at 6:30 am, the 10 km race at 7:30 am, and concluding with a 5 km fun run.

Addressing the gathering during the marathon, Dhawan stressed the significance of dedicating an hour daily to physical and mental well-being.

Chief Minister Khattar underscored the importance of such events in promoting physical fitness and fostering community spirit. He expressed his vision for Gurugram to emerge as a leading hub for athletics and marathons, drawing inspiration from established events in major cities.

Khattar remarked, “A section has been designated for the 42 km run. The 21 km marathon began at 6:30 am. The theme of our marathon is ‘Run for Zero Hunger.'”
